Zavia questions and answers

Answers about Zavia, Sweet Home 3D, source builds, platform limitations and local MCP integration.

What is Zavia?

Zavia is an independent, open-source desktop home-design customization of Sweet Home 3D, maintained by Fabio. It is not an official upstream release.

Can I download a ready-made installer?

This site links to published source and build instructions. No public one-click installer is verified here. Local maintainer packages should not be confused with a public release.

Which operating systems are documented?

The primary source-build environment is Linux with OpenJDK 17, Ant and Python 3.10+. Graphics compatibility depends on Java 3D/OpenGL. Windows MCP operation and a ready-to-use macOS distribution are not established here.

Can it replace engineering review?

No. Plans, dimensions and area measurements are design tools. They do not establish structural safety, regulatory compliance or construction suitability.

Does the MCP bridge run in the cloud?

The documented bridge connects locally to the desktop application. It requires configuration, compatible components and POSIX permissions. This site does not provide a hosted bridge.

How can I report a problem?

Use the existing GitHub issues channel with a reproducible description and source revision. Posting requires GitHub sign-in. Do not include credentials or private drawings.
